Family Hike – Gönguskarð

On July 12, there will be a hike from Njarðvík, through Gönguskarð to Stapavík and from there to Unaós. This trip is designed for families and the younger generation and is therefore slower.

The main purpose of this trip is about spending time with your family and giving children a chance to strengthen their faith in their own abilities and learn about the local environment and nature. The route is about 11 kilometers, an increase of 415 meters and the total travel time of 6-7 hours including the drive. The tour is free of charge for participants.

The departure will be from Ferðafélag Fljótdalshéraðs, Tjarnarási 8 in Egilsstaðir at 10am after being merged into cars. The total spots available for this trip is 30 and you can register now by sending an email to [email protected]. The guides are Þórdís Kristvinsdóttir and Hildur Bergsdóttir.
