Connected by Food
28. March, 2026
Food has the unique capacity to connect people beyond language and borders.
For the third consecutive year, we are organizing Connected by Food in Egilsstaðir. It is an event dedicated to celebrate the rich gastronomic heritage of the people who live in East Iceland.
We warmly invite residents from diverse cultural backgrounds to participate by preparing a traditional dish from their country of origin and sharing it with the community on 28th of March, 14.00-16.00 o’clock at Sláturhúsið.
This event is an opportunity to present your culinary traditions, tell the story behind your food, make friends and having fun.
Our maestro, Charles Ross, and his team is preparing a special musical menu which will create an unforgettable atmosphere for chatting and discovering new stories and gastronomic cultures.
This event is possible thanks to the support of Uppbyggingarsjóður Austurlands, Múlaþing,
Ragnhildur Asvaldsdottir and Sláturhúsið, Heba and A4, Ann-Marie and Sauðagull, Þorbjörg and Geitagott, Eygló and Móðir Jörð, Auður and Blábjörg, Halldór and Tehúsið, Eyrún and Fjóshornið, Grava Riktov and Fjallagrös Bakery, Kalli Sveins and Fiskiverkun Kalla Sveins and Héraðsprent.
